This course provides a comprehensive overview of internet censorship and information control in the digital age through five interconnected, module-based units. The course begins with the design of internet protocols, explores real-world implementations of censorship and related policy, examines circumvention methods and algorithmic techniques to moderate content and control speech and culminates in the broader societal questions about internet governance.

No prior knowledge of computer networking is required, but students are expected to read extensive technical and policy-based literature.
