Associate Teaching Professor, Information Networking Institute
David Varodayan is an associate teaching professor in the Information Networking Institute at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). His interests are in artificial intelligence (AI) and information security and he has created new graduate courses titled Introduction to Machine Learning with Adversaries in Mind, AI Applications in Information Security, and Mathematical Foundations for AI. He has also taught courses in computer systems and networks. Varodayan was a core member of the College of Engineering team that developed and launched CMU’s Master’s in AI Engineering degree programs.
Prior to joining CMU, Varodayan held teaching faculty appointments at Stanford University and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At UIUC, he was recognized with the George Anner Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Engineering Council Outstanding Advising Award.
