Research Area: Secure Home Computing
Cross Cutting Thrusts: Usable Privacy and Security
This project explores an architecture, mechanisms, and interfaces for helping users manage access control in the digital home of the future and on online social networks. Recent research includes investigating new ways of specifying access-control policies (e.g., reactively, and via metadata-based policy rules), using machine learning to help with policy creation, and building distributed file systems that support rich, flexible policies.
Outcomes: Design guidelines and designs for future content-sharing systems, social networks, and file systems.
