April Galyardt is a statistician and data scientist at Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute. Galyardt was previously an assistant professor in the Quantitative Methodology Program in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Georgia. She earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University, where she was a fellow in the Program for Interdisciplinary Education Research (PIER), and a member of the Statistics in Education Research Group. Galyardt’s research focuses on student assessment. Through the use of innovative educational technologies, she is able to collect rich data about the student work process.
