As Principal Project Manager for Technical Curricula, Anna Maria Berta is responsible for designing and developing educational programs that create awareness of cyber security issues. The curricula are used in academic institutions such as professional K-12 teacher development, corporate and executive education, capacity building programs, and global outreach projects for access by the general public.

Anna Maria brings a wealth of instructional, research, professional, and international experiences to CyLab's educational initiatives. Her background in technology for education includes investigating novel content delivery mechanisms while being a researcher at Carnegie Mellon's Learning Systems Architecture Lab, designing and implementing innovative didactic technologies and Intelligent Tutoring Systems for Dida*Lab in Milano, Italy, and early in her career, teaching college level mathematics and physics in Italy.

Prior to moving to the United States in 1996 to join Carnegie Mellon's Language Technologies Institute as a researcher, Anna Maria worked several years for Banksiel in Milano, Italy, where she was a technical leader for bank, finance and public sector software application projects. Some of her clients included BankItalia, the Italian national reserve, and Comit, the largest private sector commercial bank.

She obtained her Laurea (US MS degree) in Applied Mathematics in 1988 from the University of Genova (Italy), with a thesis on "Knowledge based educational systems for the teaching of mathematical concepts".
